AN INDIVIDUAL MANIPULATES 1991 THE YEAR PUNK BROKE INTO STILL IMAGES AND BLURS THEM, THE RESULTANT IMAGES ARE THEN DISPLAYED VIA A DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME WITH A TOTAL RUNTIME OF ONE YEAR.

The moments I’m missing
I fill them in with my dwindling lucidity
the time passes quickly
in a blur
or am I moving slowly?
how exactly does that relationship work again...
to be still as a skyscraper is to witness the world rushing by
like the time lapse shots of the freeway placed behind today’s highs and lows
and the 10 day forecast on the evening news
so if I move quickly will I see this moment in all it’s stillness
this prolonged moment before everything changes

while waiting for your water to break
there are times that when you arrive home I’m surprised by how you look...
you look decidedly pregnant
and it sometimes surprises me...
I know very well every moment of the day that you are with child
but it’s amazing how when the physical is presented
I am caught off guard
and I recognize you as I would in a daydream
and it’s not just physical, it’s not just physical these changes

so I like to look at you in reflections
that way I can take my time, I can look slowly...
when we’re in the house together I watch you in the microwave door when I’m making popcorn...
in the bookcase...
in the window...
I study you in the framed paper birch bark under glass so I can see you as you are...
naturally...
without knowing my gaze is upon you
snapshots in time these are...
rarely seeing any changes themselves
but the evidence that they have
taken place
the implied distance
from there to here...
the imagined space between these static moments made obvious
